Alocasia Odora Batik Variegated

Light

• Bright, indirect light is best to maintain strong growth and crisp variegation.

• A little gentle morning sun is fine, but avoid harsh midday sun that can scorch lighter areas.

Water

• Keep the soil lightly and evenly moist, not soggy.

• Water when the top 1–2 inches feel dry, then let excess drain fully.

• Reduce watering in cooler/darker months when growth slows.

Humidity

• Prefers higher humidity (aim for 60%+ when possible).

• Use a humidifier or group plants together for best leaf quality and smoother unfurling.

Temperature

• Thrives in warm conditions (65–85°F).

• Protect from drafts and temperatures below ~60°F.

Soil & Potting

• Use a chunky, fast-draining mix (potting soil + orchid bark + perlite/pumice works well).

• A pot with drainage holes is essential to prevent root issues.

Feeding

• Feed lightly during active growth (spring/summer) with a balanced fertilizer at a reduced strength.

• Pause or reduce feeding in winter.

Notes for Variegated Plants

• Variegated leaves have less chlorophyll, so growth can be slower than non-variegated forms. Consistent bright indirect light helps support healthy, steady growth.

Pet Safety

• Alocasia is toxic if ingested. Keep away from pets and small children.
